Riders In The Sky and Ricky Skaggs

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 14, 2016) – Country traditionalist Moe Bandy, known for dozens of chart-toppers like “I Cheated Me Right Out of Her," "Bandy the Rodeo Clown” and “Americana,” will releaseLUCKY ME July 29. LUCKY ME, Bandy’s first studio album in 10 years, features memorable collaborations with The Oak Ridge Boys, Riders In The Sky and Ricky Skaggs.

The Texas singer with twin fiddles and steel guitar in his band continues to keep Texas-style honky tonk music alive with his latest studio album. The Oak Ridge Boys join Bandy on the fiery heartbreak “Hell Stays Open” and twangy, steel-guitar pinged “A Place To Hang My Hat.” Bandy features Ricky Skaggs’ signature bluegrass flare on the “The Rarest Flowers” while Riders In The Sky bring Western wit and charm on “Long Lived The Cowboy” and “That Horse That You Can’t Ride.”

“I am so honored to have had the opportunity to work with such talented musicians,” Bandy said. “These artists are people that I’ve admired for a very long time. I hope my fans enjoy listening to this record as much as I did recording it.”

Whether in the studio or traveling the world performing, Bandy keeps one of the busiest schedules in the business.

Some of his noteworthy accomplishments include: 10 No. 1 Hits, 40 Top Ten Hits, 66 Chart Hits, 5 Gold Albums, ACM Song of The Year, ACM most Promising Male Vocalist of the Year, American Video of the year, ACM and CMA Duet of the Year.

It was made CD of the Month in UK’s top country magazine Country Music People July 2016 (Page 34)
I may not have been aware of Moe Bandy in the 1970s, when he was at his charting peak, but I’ve since sure come to appreciate his work from that period. So much so in fact, that along with Mel Street and Gene Watson, Moe is undoubtedly one of my favourites of that era. He was country when country wasn’t cool then, and he’s country when country isn’t country now! He’s never been anything else, and as any lover of hardcore country will agree, integrity means a lot, and on his brand new album Bandy is as good as he ever was, and way better than most singers can ever dream of being. Lucky Me contains several songs with which fans of real country might be familiar... spectacularly good record with a fabulous song choice..this has gone straight to my favourite of the year…the trouble with most of today’s country it doesn’t sound like this. There aren't many musical performers who've been on top of a bucking bull or bronco and on top of the country music charts, but Moe Bandy has.
A member of the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, he has had 40 Top Ten singles, 66 charted releases and 10 Number One hits including “Too Old To Die Young,” “Bandy the Rodeo Clown,” “Hank Williams, You Wrote My Life” and “Just Good Ol’ Boys.” And, he’s not hung up his recording hat yet -- Bandy will release a new project July 29, LUCKY ME, chock-full of the honky-tonk sounds his fans have grown to expect and depend on.
Moe's thankful for all the riches his career has brought him - from his loyal fans to his close friendship with former President George Bush, who counts Moe's 1988 hit "Americana" as one of his favorite songs.
