Shantell co-wrote it this fab song with Bill DiLuigi and Sarah Allison Turner.
Ogden
recently completed a highly successful UK/
Ireland tour where she played at notable festivals such as Buckle and Boots in Manchester (Sat
25th June: The Acoustic Stage). The new video features a live in-studio
performance with her band in Nashville, as well as some train footage with a
bit of a backstory.
“While
I was on tour between England and Ireland in June and July, I stopped over at
the Isle of Man for a couple of
days,” said Shantell. “They have a fantastic old-time steam train there, and I
couldn’t resist capturing the ride on film. When I got together with Neal Ebanks back in Nashville who
directed the video, we decided we should play off the song’s theme and use some
of the footage I took. It was a really fun project!” (Find Isle of Man Steam

ICYMI: FLYING VISIT
Lee Williams President of
the British Country Music Awards and
CEO of Django Promotions and owner
of CMR Nashville (“Europe’s #1
country music station”) had a chat with Shantell at Heathrow Airport prior to her Buckle & Boots Festival
appearance. It was first broadcast on Fri June 17, 2016. Listen here, Click PLAY twice:
Shantell said: "I'm thrilled to be playing the festival along with so many great artists at the Buckle and Boots Country Festival in Manchester! I appreciate the festival staff and the fans for making such a great event possible."
Last
year she promoted her single “God Counts Every Tear” (Joe Doyle/
Brian Kolb/ Shantell Ogden) across the UK & Europe courtesy of the June
2015 HOTDISC #198 promo disc. She
made a debut at #34 on the Hotdisdc Top 40 debut spending 9 weeks on the chart
climbing to No.21. The song, promoted by Lee Williams, was hard-hitting singer-songwriter fare with a nice spacious production. For The Country Record featured the track
and in review said that it was: “grounded
in a more modern and commercial country pop sound than perhaps her other
material is. Still, even though there are multiple guitars involved in the
arrangement, each one is given its own timbre and “voice”, allowing a balanced
mix with room for variety instead of chaos. As a result, Shantell’s distinctive
vocals are able to cut through with crystal clarity, even when things build up
for the passionate chorus. The lyrics are heavy but have an uplifting effect,
assuring the listener that God is listening to all our pain and hurt, and that
no prayers go ignored.
Her
previous Hotdisc Top 40 outings were “Love Shouldn't Hurt” (HD185; May
2014; #19 debut) which reached #18 and “Looking For My Last” (HD183; Feb
2014; #28 debut) peaked at No.21. “The best
thing about making music is sharing it with others, and I’m so excited to be
releasing a single with the help of CMR Nashville,” said Shantell. “Looking for My Last is about being a ‘last
love’ for someone instead of a first.
On 28th April 2015 she released her 8 track GHOSTS IN THE FIELD (Hip Farm Chic Records) which contained the
standout title cut and “Be My Rain”.
